I had to put down my dog Brownie, she was only 1 yr and 1m old. Out of no where she started having seizures, If she did not hit the glass door, I would have never known. I took her to the ER Vet and told me they can keep her over night but would cost me 1100 for treatment. But not having work right now or the money was really hard. They told me to keep an eye on her, keep her inside. I kept her as comfy as I could, she was sleeping with me on my bed, till she had another seizure. All I could do is talk to her calm her down, tell her it's okay. She would foam at the mouth and her head would toss back, legs would stretch as far as they could and she would chomp down. I read online that when a dog is this state do not, put your hands near the dogs mouth they can bite but there not in there right mind. I already knew that, I have a cousin that has epilepsy. After that, she was out of it for 30 min then she was back to her self, I gave her some chicken I made the night before and a hot dog, I know but she wanted it. Well after her next seizure at 10:30 she threw up the food, I gave her some water but she only drank a little. I called the Vet and told them she was having more seizures and they told me she may have to be put down cuz now it will affect her brain. I think it did cuz she had another one at 11:03 half hour later very close to each other. she had 7 in a 2 day time frame. They don't know what the cause of it was can be a number of things. but all I know is she was sick and I could not get her any meds for one they cost way to much and I don't think it would of helped the last day I had with her she knew she was not the same, she was suffering and I even could feel that. I had her next to me rubbing her coat, she had a hard time breathing and she would not eat anything or drink anymore water. So after the last seizure she had on my bed I had to take her to the humane society in Phoenix. when we got there she was laying on the floor she was still out of it, I'm pretty sure she had some brain damage, she was not the same dog I had. I said my goodbyes and left it up to them to put her as ease. Brownie will be missed and loved by all, I delivered her at birth she was the runt. very healthy but problems happen with all dogs and people. this really shows that life is not for granted and she be taken care of no mater what or who you are.
